Prayer of Jabez
1 Chronicles 4:10
"And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, 'Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!' So God granted him what he requested. "
This passage may be familiar to us but we broke it down to four separate points that I had heard in a message from one of my favorite Pastors. The four points of the Prayer of Jabez are:
1) Greater success
2) Greater influence
3) Greater power
4) Greater protection
Our prayer for you is that you would pray this prayer over you and your family every day!!!
1) Greater success
There are different types of success. There is success according to the world's standards and then there is success according to God's standards.
- Why as Christians are we afraid to pray for God's blessing on our lives?
- What does success mean to you?
- What do you consider success according to God's standards?
2) Greater influence
This is a topic that seems to be coming up a lot. We are women of influence, no matter if we believe it or not or if we take it seriously it not. It is very real. We are influencing those around us, our husbands, our children, our extended family, our neighbors and the list could go on and on.
First, we need to pray and determine to be a good influence and a little Christ but then we should pray that our influence would become greater.
Women & moms, do not think you are insignificant or do not play an important in the world around you. You may feel like your life is busy with mundane tasks but there can be profound God moments in the midst of your everyday life if you let God lead you.
Your sphere of influence is different than mine. You never know whose life you could touch by a simple touch or word of encouragement.
You could start a chain reaction (either good or bad) that could have everlasting consequences.
3) Greater power
Do you believe that you can tap in to God's power? It is available for the asking if we are open to it and ask the Lord.
What does this mean for us? Can we pray and believe God for miracles & healing?
4) Greater protection
We should pray a hedge of protection around our homes, our husband's and our children, etc. We can take anointing oil and anoint the door posts of our homes or the heads of our children & believe that God will protect them.

Be Free
"Galatians 5:1 says, "Christ has liberated us to be free. Stand firm then and don't submit again to a yoke of slavery." Beseeching the Spirit for genuine repentance, radical resolve, and ruthless resistance empowers us to stand firm and free from sin's enslaving yoke." Duty or Delight - p. 94

Take Control of Your Time (Part 1)
Below is the MWC Devotional from today called "Take Control of Your Time" and is Part 1. I know we are all busy in so many different ways.....hope that this encourages you (and me!!!!)
“Walk in wisdom…redeeming the time.” Col 4:5 NKJV
Nothing is more costly than wasted time. Every minute lost is gone forever. Today we have more time-saving devices than any other generation, yet we seem to have less time. To get control of your life you must first get control of your time. That means redirecting each lost minute toward a worthy purpose. We all have things we want to do, plan to do, and feel bad about not doing.
Understand this: the difference in who you are right now and the person you’ll be ten years from now, will largely be determined by your relationships and your reading habits. And the first book you should read is your Bible, the world’s greatest wisdom manual. Here’s a suggestion that will help you: instead of having an “all or nothing” attitude to Bible reading, seize your “in between time.” You’ll be amazed how the wasted minutes in each day and week add up to hours of productive time.
J. Oswald Sanders gives us three great insights:
(1) Stop leaks. Let us not consider our day only in terms of hours, but in smaller areas of time. If we look after the minutes, the hours will look after themselves.
(2) Set priorities. Much time is spent on things of only secondary importance. We give such undue attention to petty details that matters of major importance are squeezed out. This is especially so where spiritual things are concerned.
(3) Start planning.
Without a plan we all tend to drift. So in the attitude of prayer, ask, “How can I best plan today?” Buy up the spare minutes as eagerly as a miser hoards money.

Valuable to God
"If we do not see ourselves as valuable to God and valuable before God, then we will never find confidence before Him. Serving Him will always be a duty rather than the delight He intends for us.". - Duty or Delight Bible Study
